Happy Mother's Day from President, Dianne Rybicki

I always love the month of May for several reasons.  It is the month of my birthday, we celebrate our amazing mother’s and the weather is starting to get warmer.  I hope everyone had a Happy Mother’s Day!!  This includes current moms, future moms, and of course fur moms.   You are all fabulous!  I included my mom in my picture for the president’s letter this month.  Love you mom!!
We had a great May meeting.  I was so happy seeing everyone.  We had 5 guests and 16 members in attendance.  The meeting included lunch, introductions, board elections, a networking discussion at each table and our wonderful panel talking about resources and information for starting your own business as well as support available for small businesses.
As mentioned, we did have board elections at our meeting.  Our ABWA new year starts in August.  It was great to see so many members on the ballot for the different positions for next year’s board.

Building A Business From the Ground Up

Our educational program for May was a panel discussion of experts on building and supporting business growth.  Our speakers were: Sarah Lance from EmPWR, Nikki Heffelfinger from Small Business Development Center and Christie Browning.
Speakers discussed their “Why” for starting and supporting businesses, how to access resources and support for new business owners.  The panel provided great insights to the challenges and rewards for starting a business.
